While God, Christ and the Holy Spirit are spoken of as God, does scripture teach
they are three persons, each God, each equal with the other, each
separate, yet one God? Where?
If
the trinity doctrine is so important, shouldn't scripture emphasize it?
In his letters' salutations, Paul consistently distinguishes between GOD
the Father and the LORD Jesus Christ. Why the distinction? Why no
mention of the Holy Spirit?
The
Trinity doctrine originated when King Constantine called for the Church to
resolve different views of Christ so Rome would not be divided in its
belief. Do you think the
Trinity doctrine was inspired by God or was it men's attempt to explain
Him?
How
could Christ be a God-Man since the attributes of deity and humanity are
fundamentally opposed to each other? Both God and man have unique
attributes. How can they be mixed?
If
the Son of God is made to be God the Son, equal and separate
from God the Father, then what was His role during Christ's
ministry? Where was He, what did He do when Jesus walked the earth?
what was His role? Do we not have TWO spirits? Doesn't Eph. 4:5 tell us
there is only ONE spirit, that God is spirit? (John 4:24)
We
know Jesus was born of the Spirit, baptized by the Spirit, led by the
Spirit. Was this God the Spirit or God the Father? If not,
why did Jesus continually refer to the Father in Him, explaining "I am
in the Father and the Father in me."? (John 14:10)
Was
Jesus omnipotent? We know He stilled the storm, etc., but how to explain
His words that He could do nothing of Himself (John 5:19)?
Was
Jesus omniscient? Nathaniel surely thought so, but how come Jesus didn't
know the time of His coming? See John 1:48 and Mark 13:32.
If
Jesus is equal with God how do we explain John 14:28 where Jesus said, "My
Father is greater than I?
Can
you name an instance where Jesus declared He was God? Did Jesus in himself
have to BE God in order to be CALLED God?
Does
Christ's divinity arise from Himself or from His Father who indwelt Him?
What about Jesus' words, "The words that I speak to you I do not speak on
My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works."? (John
14:10)
The
Jews accused Jesus of making himself equal with God and were ready to
stone him when He remarked, "I and my Father are one” in John 10:30. Do
His words mean He was God? In Psalm 82:6 to which Jesus referred them, God
refers to His servants as gods, even though they would die. Might His
being “one” with God have been referring to his being in perfect
accord with God's will and purpose?
When
we enter heaven will we see the omnipotent, invisible God or will we meet
face to face Christ in a glorified human body, at once the Son of Man and
the Son of God?
Christians
are joint heirs with Christ. If He is God, will we become God? Mormons
think so. God was in Christ. Now Christ is in us. The
same spirit that indwelled Him is in us. Can this be why we are called Holy
Ones and why the Son of Man is not ashamed to call us His brethren.
